Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions
4. Goaltuli, Siliguri, West Bengal (2015) We have acquired a piece of land in Goaltuli in 2014 and blessed the mission on January 18th 2015. Two sisters, Lilly Joseph and Kamila Kandulna, were missioned to the new place on 19th March 2015. They are exploring possibilities for ministries that are meaningful and sustainable. In the Parish they have already established good rapport and involved in social, pastoral and family apostolate. We began to extend our development activities to another lush green village named Goaltuli at the end of 2013. It is 5 kilometers away from Chatterhat village. Two sisters, Lilly Joseph and Kamila Kandulna, were missioned to the new place on 19th March 2015. From then on the sisters started to build relationships with people through education and developmental activities by conducting tuition classes for rural children. It is a needy area as most of the people are socially and economically disadvantaged. The sisters’ residence with a multipurpose hall was constructed and blessed in September 2018. Meanwhile, a need assessment study was done with the tribal families and others including the village Heads (ward members) of Goaltuli. The study has reiterated that there is a great need for an English Medium School in Goaltuli village, which has a great demand. In this context, the RNDM sisters planned to start a play school in the existing multi-purpose hall of the residence from April 2019. The ground floor of the new school building was completed and blessed on 18 June 2022.
